Handling energy in a more sustainable way is one of Bekina's objectives and is absolutely necessary to ensure our future as a company. Our partner to achieve this objective is research and energy consultancy agency Bureau 9000. They guide us to manage our sustainable energy use.

First, they mapped out our energy management:

- Where is the bulk consumption?

- Where does energy go to waste?

- Which energy sources are used?

- etc.

Then they listed specific action points for us: concrete matters we can address to make our energy consumption more sustainable. In doing this, we achieve:

- less consumption;

- a minimal loss;

- augmented sustainability of energy sources.

At Bekina, for example, there's an ongoing project to reduce compressed air losses. A large proportion of our electricity consumption is for compressed air. By avoiding leaks, we can save a great deal on electricity consumption. Of course we continue to monitor the consumption to measure and adjust the impact of our actions.
